Project Infomation

The site is located to the south of the A54 where the road crosses the Macclesfield Canal designated a Conservation Area in 1975 with its bridges and locks given Grade II Listing.

The site is approximately 4 miles from the centre of Congleton and benefits from views of The Cloud to the south and open countryside to the east and west. The existing site has a slight fall both from north to south and from the canal to the west so that the properties facing the canal are at a higher level than those to the south and west.

The quality and longevity of the scheme is greatly helped by careful and appropriate architectural detailing. It is intended to adopt slate-type pitched roofs, deep recessed windows and openings and overhanging eaves. The details and materials will pay respect to the locality and the materials used and be appropriate to the aesthetic
